What CBP guidance says
CBP’s duty waiver article states that duty-free treatment for low-value shipments, valued at or under $800, from all countries was suspended effective 29 August 2025. It notes exceptions for some existing duty-free provisions.
Ask before dispatch
- Which carrier and entry process handle the parcel?
- How are duty and processing charges collected?
- Are these included in freight or charged separately?
- What classification, origin and value records are required?
No single rate fits every item
The charge depends on classification, origin, date and applicable measures. Seller price alone does not determine duty. Ask the carrier or a customs professional for the shipment-specific calculation.
Make a US report comparable
Record route, dispatch date, packed weight and entry process. A community packing discussion does not establish an import success rate.
